Our Festival will begin on Thursday afternoon March 21. It will be held again this year at First Baptist Church of Palestine. The church is located at 5700 North Loop 256. Attendees may begin registering after lunch and an afternoon of free-style Old Time acoustic jam sessions will begin.
Our first scheduled event will be a Thursday evening concert beginning at at 6:45 p.m. Well known for his clawhammer banjo playing, Joe Newberry will be performing for the first half of the evening. Joe is also a powerful guitarist, and singer songwriter and a true gentleman and entertainer.
The second half of the evening we will have Ann Kirrane of Bellharbour in No. County Clare, Ireland along with her group, the Belles of Bellharbour. Ann is known for her exquisite styling on the concertina, which she has played since age seven, and her beautiful, expressive and clear and vocal tones. We are thrilled and honored to have this premier group with us this year.
Jam sessions will resume after the concert.
Friday and Saturday schedules will begin with workshops at 9:00 a.m., 10:30 and 3:15.
Friday and Saturday schedules will also include Mid-Day Concerts at 1:30 p.m. as well as Evening Concerts at 6:45 p.m. All our performers are renowned in their particular genre and perform and instruct all over the United States and many abroad.
All concerts are $10 for each person.
