34th Annual Juneteenth Celebration.
Continuing the Legacy
Juneteenth Parade begins at Calhoun Park at 10:00 A.M. It winds its way through town and disburses at the Anderson County Courthouse.
There will be a short program at the Courthouse after which all will leave and gather again at Calhoun Park. Don't forget your lawn chairs and umbrellas and prepare for a day of fun. Enjoy good food, games and entertainment. Hotdogs, Red Soda Pop, Watermelons and Kick Ball.

An important historical event: the first Anderson County Courthouse on the day of the Freedmen’s First Vote in 1866. The voters’ horses are tied to the railing, and the Union guards are watching over the freed slaves to prevent the opposition from taking or harming them.
