Wine in the Pines combines the natural romance of the rails with the deep flavors of wine and chocolate, making the senses work overtime while the rest of the body is relaxed and refreshed. These adult-only, highly exclusive Friday evening train rides depart the Palestine, TX depot, offering passengers an evening under the ambience of a star-studded skyscape. One of the secrets of this journey is the transition from day to night … sort of like white to red wine and milk to dark chocolate. This event will include a selection of wines enhanced by complementary snacks during the outbound train journey. This special event, experienced solely onboard the train, is offered in either First Class, the Upper Dome Car, Presidential or even the privately-chartered Caboose. All wines sampled onboard the train, along with other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, will be available for purchase. The return excursion, featuring a final vintage and sampling of luxurious chocolates, allows ample time for all wine lovers to savor a full serving of their favorite blend, comparing notes and sharing stories with friends and loved ones. Anyone consuming alcohol aboard Texas State Railroad must be 21 years or older.
