Deep in East Texas lies a hidden jewel called Palestine. It's streets are full of undiscovered treasures: Victorian, Edwardian and Arts and Craft-era homes waiting to be toured. For just that reason, Palestine is opening the doors of some of those homes this December.
The homeowners themselves are decorating with their own styles, whether it be an abundance of Christmas trees and decorations or simple candles in the windows. Whatever they decide, the homes themselves will shine.
You may choose to walk or drive from home to home. Many of the homes are within a few blocks of one another.
Palestine is unique in that it has preserved so many of its antebellum and early 1900’s homes. A drive down its shady streets will reveal large mansions with much fretwork and smaller yet still impressive homes of the Arts and Craft era. Many are decorated with the original outside woodwork and most are original inside, with a nod to the improvements of recent times. The homes are on tour only December 3rd.
