Palestine Main Street

The Palestine Main Street is a nationally recognized program of the City of Palestine.

Vision Statement:
Sustaining the culture of Palestine’s Main Street District through the innovative and creative use of historic spaces while seizing opportunities to evolve and grow.

Mission Statement:
Main Street Palestine works to make Palestine’s downtown a vibrant and prosperous center of the community by utilizing historic buildings and structures for living, shopping, dining and entertaining Palestine’s residents and visitors.
This will be accomplished by using the Main Street Four-Point Approach :
• Providing opportunities and education for historically correct rehabilitation (Design)
• Providing interaction with stakeholders to build on successes (Organization)
• Creating imaginative, fun and educational promotions to attract residents and visitors (Promotion)
• Boosting efforts and availability for new and existing entities to acquire funding and tailored support for existing businesses (Economic Restructuring)

Art Tracks

The 6th Annual Art Tracks is a juried exhibit featuring outdoor sculptures in prominent Main Street locations in Palestine, Texas.

The annual project is an initiative of the Palestine Main Street Department and Palestine Tomorrow, a subfund of the Texas Area Fund Foundation, whose ongoing goal is to provide and encourage parks and arts in Palestine for a better quality of life.

Main Street Events

Taste of New Orleans: A Mardi Gras Celebration
Wine Swirl: Takes place the second Saturday in December each year.


Main Street Palestine offers grants up to $25,000 for Bat and Pigeon abatement and up to $30,000 for facade improvements. These funds are available as matching grant opportunities.
