This heritage-filled weekend will be full of holiday activities that include Snow Tubing in downtown Palestine, a 5K Run, turn-of-the-century crafts, beer gardens, trolley tours of Palestine’s historic homes and much more.

Christmas Parade of Lights


Beautiful floats will march down Old Town Palestine and through downtown as the Christmas Parade of Lights sets sail to the delight of hundreds of residents and visitors. Let the spirit of the season embrace you as the historic Anderson County Courthouse comes alive with illumination at Palestine’s most beloved nighttime event! "Christmas at the Courthouse" will be broken into two parts. The Courthouse and tree will be lit, without a ceremony, on Dec. 6th.  Family activities, Cream & Coffee hot beverage kiosk, Santa and other fun has been rescheduled for Dec. 14th at 8pm.

The Pop-Up Art Gallery is an innovative gallery that pops up for a limited time showcasing local and regional artists.  The exhibit will show arts works in ceramics, sculpture, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, folk art and photography.  The Pop-Up Art Gallery, free to the public, is a project of the Main Street Department and accomplished thru volunteers.  The gallery is located at 213 W. Oak Street in downtown Palestine.

Holiday Music in Old Town Palestine

Experience a FREE holiday concert in Old Town Palestine 3pm-5pm

Enjoy a free holiday concert with Shake, Rattle & Roll in Old Town Palestine. The magical music of the ‘50s and ‘60s is reborn through this unique all female East Texas show group. This group of friends and “seasoned” showbiz vets, also known as the “pride of East Texas”, is one of the hottest groups in the South today.  Entering and winning the largest Doo Wop contest ever held in Las Vegas, gave them a recording contract with Memory Lane West in Las Vegas.  Shake, Rattle & Roll have had their songs playing across the country on XM satellite radio.


 The free concert will be from 3 - 5 p.m. in The Hollow in Old Town Palestine.  Don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs and blankets.
